On Hobart's Eastern Shore, Ralph's Bay is a good place to go bird-watching.

Royal Botanic Gardens

The Hobart Botanic Gardens are one of my favourite places to visit in the city. There is a pretty decent restaurant/cafe there where you can have a drink or a bite and enjoy the glorious view.






My favourite place in the gardens is Pete's Patch -the marvelous fruit and vegie garden that Peter Cundall has developed there for Gardening Australia.

D'Entrecasteaux Channel

This beautiful stretch of water lies between the mainland of Tasmania and Bruny Island. I took these photos from the side of the road - somewhere between Verona Sands and Gordon.
